The simple analytical potential recently introduced by Roesner et al. (1983) for the H atom in strong magnetic fields is shown to be excellently suited for computing continuum wave functions rapidly and accurately. As an application, photoionization cross sections are evaluated using approximate continuum functions, and the results are compared with previous calculations.
