This method gives one more way to distinguish qualitatively the plasma regimes in the tail when one processes big data sets. The study is based on the orbital data and the key parameters obtained from MIF-M, DOK-2 and CORALL of the Interball-1 mission. The authors sort the data taking into account typical features of the tail plasma regimes, namely the value of magnetic field magnitude and its variability. The technique is based on plots of low-frequency fluctuation level versus magnetic field magnitude. The background of the method was initially proposed and tested for the Geotail mission data.
