Recent advances in TeV γ-ray astronomy have been made using imaging techniques which reject in excess of 99% of the cosmic ray background while simultaneously detecting more than 50% of the genuine γ-ray signal. Here we describe an advanced signal processing technique, Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) and discuss its successful application to the TeV γ-ray database obtained by the Whipple Collaboration
