The in-orbit monitoring of the satellite propulsion system is achieved with the aid of a computer model. This quasi-static balance model uses on-ground measured data of the actual system and its components combined with telemetry data. The model has been applied to the low-earth-orbit (LEO) Offek earth observation satellites mono- propellant hydrazine propulsion system, operating in blow-down mode. Data collected for each of the thrusters during component level testing enable current per thruster performance monitoring during the mission and propellant consumption book-keeping. Propulsion system data and loading records, and telemetry data, enable balance of propellant estimation. Statistical analysis is used in order to achieve best results from the available data. An algorithm is analyzed for considering accuracy of propellant balance estimation independent of in-orbit pressure transducers' readings.
