The author describes the scientific work of the Apollo space programme, the laser reflectors which measure the earth-moon distance to 30 cm. and can be used to study wobbles in the earth's rotation, the moon-quake recorders, and the radiation detectors both on the surface of, and in orbit round the moon. He concludes by considering the evidence of the lunar samples brought back by the Apollo astronauts.
