Experimental observations and basic properties of antiprotons are reviewed. Interactions between protons and antiprotons are examined along with characteristics of antiprotonic atoms, particle production in antiproton interactions, and the existence of baryon-antibaryon resonances and bound states. The possibility is discussed of cooling antiproton beams, storing them, and allowing them to collide at very high energies with protons. The possible existence of antimatter in the universe is also considered. It is concluded that no significant amounts of antimatter apparently exist in the Galaxy, there is no evidence for bulk antimatter anywhere, but the existence of bulk antimatter in remote parts of the universe has not been excluded by experiment.
