The antiproton spectrum for cosmic rays near the earth is calculated using a model in which antiprotons are ejected by giant molecular clouds situated in the Galactic disk. It is suggested that the charged particles inside the clouds are accelerated via the statistical acceleration mechanism. It is shown that this model can be used to describe the features of the observed antiproton spectrum in the 0.4-15 GeV energy range.
