Arguments are presented against the validity of the thermal model for the brightness variations of antiflare stars. It is shown that observed magnitude-color relations in antiflare stars differ strongly from those calculated on the basis of the thermal model which assumes that the variability in the initial stage of brightness decrease is due to photospheric-temperature variations.
