Detectors: Gravitational Radiation
Scientific paper
Since mirrors in the laser interferometric detector for gravitational waves are suspended, their stability near the frequency of the pendulum mode is affected by seismic vibration. To isolate the mirrors from this noise one has developed an original X-pendulum and applied it to a horizontal vibration isolation system with two degrees of freedom. The development process is described.
