Buneman or strong ion-electron streaming instability may be a source of anomalous resistivity in reconnection regions or tangential discontinuities in space plasmas. Kinetic effects arising from the excitation of Buneman instability can be coupled to macroscopic models by means of anomalous resistivity in the generalized Ohm's law. The present paper discusses a nonlinear turbulence theory for Buneman instability, which is compared against Vlasov simulation. We also discuss how the anomalous resistivity computed theoretically can be coupled to the macroscopic models.
