The results of studies of the electrical behaviour of a living tree [`]looking into' metal electrodes are presented. The tree exhibits the behaviour of an anomalous dielectric and has at least three measurable relaxation times of the order of 100, 500 and 1000 sec. A tentative suggestion is made as to the seat of the long relaxation times associated with the tree-electrode system.
