This is a report for 1945-46 on the staff and organizational structure, observing conditions, solar research, planetatry investigations, stellar investigations (parallaxes, color photometry and standard magnitudes, photoelectric photometry, visual magnitudes of double stars, visual magnitudes of Nova Puppis and T Coronae Borealis, diameter of nu Virginis, motions of stars within 20 pc), stellar spectroscopy (Taurus Cluster, radial velocities, variable stars, novae, faint blue stars, stars in the Taurus Clouds, early-type emission stars, silicon A stars, Wolf-Rayet stars, nu Sagittari, Alpha Orionis, Beta Pegasi, Alpha Scorpii, Alpha Bootis , magnetic fields), galactic nebulae and star clouds (planetary nebulae, the galactic nucleus), extragalactic nebulae (emission nebulosities in and diameter of M31, redshifts and spectral types, the image collection), laboratory investigations, maintenance and new construction, the library, and the publications.
