The annual activity of the alpha-Aurigid meteor shower is analyzed using the records of the Visual Meteor Database. Apart from 1994 when enhanced activity of the shower was reported, the alpha-Aurigids produce a fairly stable maximum with average ZHR=7+-1 at lambda=158.6+-0.1. An average population index r=2.6+-0.1 was derived and found to possess a slight minimum around the time of maximum activity.
