A measurement which proves the existence of an anisotropy in galactic cosmic radiation is reported. The anisotropy was detected by examining extensive air showers produced by cosmic-ray primaries of energies of about 60 TeV. The implications of the observations are considered. It is pointed that an intensity maximum observed from the direction of the galactic anticenter may be understood in terms of an increased density of cosmic rays within the galactic arm.
