Interplanetary Space: Particle Propagation
Scientific paper
The anisotropic stage of the propagation of charged particles in the interplanetary plasma is considered on the basis of the kinetic equation. New analytic solutions are obtained for the cases of weak pitch-angle diffusion with small and arbitrary angles of injection in a nonuniform magnetic field. The spatial and temporal spreading of the angular distribution of particles is here characterized by a Gaussian curve. The steady-state problem of strong pitch-angle diffusion of particles for a particular form of flat turbulence spectrum existing at large heliocentric distances is also solved.
