The eleven year variations of galactic cosmic rays are determined on the basis of the observed distribution of solar activity with respect to solar latitude in the period 1958-1968 and the density distributions of galactic cosmic rays in interplanetary space derived from the observations. The method developed is first to determine the expected variation of the average yearly values of cosmic ray intensity during one solar activity cycle in the region of the earth orbit (R = 1 AU from the sun) and then to determine the expected change in the amplitude of the eleven year variation of cosmic rays of different rigidity as a function of distance from the sun and solar latitude.
