We consider angular momentum in asymptotically flat spacetimes, which
are perturbations of stationary spacetimes. We show that ambiguities in
angular momentum at spatial and null infinity can be suppressed by
averaging spacetime over timescales much larger than the dynamical
timescale of the perturbation.
