The formalism for capture of linearly or circularly polarized γ rays on polarized targets with subsequent particle emission is presented in a convenient form. This allows one to generate the expressions for cross sections and analyzing powers in terms of reduced transition matrix elements. A Sample Table of the required generalized B coefficients is displayed and its use is illustrated in a specific example. An error in Welton's Eq. (207), which was used as the starting point of our previous tables (Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables 50, 29, 1992) for linearly polarized photons on unpolarized targets, has been corrected. This results in a sign change for those entries in our tables which correspond to E1-M1 and E1-E2 products.
