A method of separation of variables is applied to solve the governing hydrodynamical equations of interstellar media in quasi-hydrostatic equilibrium in one dimension of a spherical coordinate system. Irrespective of the physical consequences, the behavior of these equations under separation of variables is studied. The mathematical and physical results are discussed in Section 3.
