The polarization of 60 pulsating radio events, identified as type IV bursts, which were recorded in the m-dm band during solar cycle 21 have been analyzed. The results confirm that the emission is totally polarized at the source and that the source is itself unique. In contrast to previous work, it is found that, under the assumption of the leading-spot hypothesis, the emission occurs in the ordinary magnetoionic mode for most of the samples. A different polarization degree of the continuum may point to the contemporaneous presence of more than one source.
