An analysis is presented of the 1983 light multicolor curve of a rapidly rotating G giant FK Com, reported by Holtzman and Nations (1984). The photometric and spectral behavior of FK Com is similar to that observed for RS CVn type stars, except that FK Com does not show radial velocity variations. The parameters of the surface inhomogeneities leading to this photometric behavior are determined. The results indicate the presence of a hot spot covering 6.8 percent of the star surface, supporting the suggestion of Walter and Basri (1982) that photometric and H-alpha variability of FK Com is connected with the bright star hemisphere but not with the dark one as for the RS CVn systems. According to Walter and Basri, the prolonged phase stability of the photometric and H-variability is an indicator of duplicity, and the presence of the hot spot is explained by the impact of accretion stream flowing from an invisible companion to the G giant.
