A problem of superfuid-helium storage in a nonventing cryogenic system for a spaceborne IR telescope (i.e., the system with the drain line closed, as during the time immediately before launch) is analyzed. The cryogenic system is intended for maintaining the following operational temperatures in the main parts of the telescope: not higher than 10 K in the IR detector, 30 K in the objective, 55 K in the entrance end of the baffle, and 45 K in the rear end of it. Two variants of a nonventing helium storage system are presented, both of which make it possible to store helium in superfluid state for one week.
