The motion of an auroral radiant was investigated on the basis of TV photography with a time resolution of 0.125 sec. It is shown that the average radiant that was observed in Tiksi Bay was shifted toward the southeast from the magnetic zenith, corresponding to a height of 150 km. The transverse current in the ionosphere pulsated with a characteristic period of about 0.5 sec. In addition, helicoidal oscillations of the lines of force occurred which corresponded to sign-varying pulsations of the field-aligned current in the radiant-band region.
