Meteors: Fragmentation, Meteors: Methods Of Observation
Scientific paper
A procedure developed for the treatment of meteor observations represented by sets of pairs of altitudes of the brightness peak hm and values of brightness mmax at these altitudes is described. The procedure is based on the meteor radiation theory that takes into account quasi-continuous meteor fragmentation. This procedure allows to determine the parameters R0 and R1 of the quasi-continuous meteor fragmentation from the observational data. These parameters are characteristic for the meteoroid and for the products of its fragmentation, respectively. The efficiency of the procedure is demonstrated by the solutions of model problems.
