Tikhonov's regularization method can be applied to solve numerically the integral equation relating an observed occultation curve to the brightness distribution across the occulted source. The method can allow for instrumental effects, is stable against stochastic noise, and should be valuable for analyzing lunar occultations of both optical and radio objects with complex angular structure. As an illustration, a photoelectric occultation curve of the close binary star 16 Tau is analyzed.
