An interferometric gravitational wave detector, LISM, has started operation and made test observations at Kamioka mine of Japan. Because seismic motion of this site is smaller than that of nominal case (10{ - 7} /f2 {m/}}√ {{Hz)}} by two orders of magnitude. As a result of test operations, we can make sure that Kamioka mine is suitable for long and continuous operation of interferometric gravitational wave (GW) detector as we desired. We plan to construct a future 3 km long GW detector of Large scale Cryogenic Gravitational wave Telescope (LCGT) on this site.
