Virtual heights (h-sub-c-prime (f), where f is the sounding frequency) were obtained from hourly ionograms from Millstone Hill during July 1989 for the range of foF2 to foF2-1.2 MHz. The Millstone Hill virtual heights are compared to the corresponding virtual heights computed from ARTIST profiles obtained from Digisonde records. A comparison is also made between the shapes of the electron density profiles resulting from ARTIST and those from the new analysis.
