An increase in the muon count rate was recorded at the Baksan telescope
during the solar flare of September 29, 1989. The increase lagged 1.5 hr
behind the initial count rate increase of the neutron monitor, but
coincided with the count rate maximum. The recorded threshold energy of
the muons was 200 GeV.
