Certain aspects of a stepwise process for optimizing the geometrical parameters and construction layout of a system for correcting the surface shape of large optical mirrors are considered. The problem is considered in combination with the solving of certain process limitations. The results of using the proposed procedure in the case of a 1.5-m optical assembly are presented.
