Yearly data of the length of day from 1800 were analysed by means of a narrow band filter, and the time-varying components with various frequencies were obtained. It was found that only three components, which are much less than those thought commonly, were more regular. Based on the analysis, the variation of length of day in coming fifty years was predicted.
