Analogies between mathematical expressions in the theories of elasticity and of electricity are demonstrated. Such analogies permit an easy transcription of formulas from one system into the other, and may thus contribute to a greater homogeneity between different fields. Besides their practical and educational value, such analogies may suggest that various fields could be developed simply as special cases of a more uniform and homogeneous treatment, encompassing a variety of applications.
