An underground search has been made for fractionally charged particles by measuring precisely the dE/dx and the time of flight of the penetrating cosmic-ray particles with six layers of scintillator hodoscopes. No candidate was found for relativistic particles with charge 2/3 or 1/2, setting upper limits on the flux of 9.8 and 7.5 x 10 to the -13th/sq cm sr sec, respectively.
