Compton Scattering: Pulsars, Compton Scattering: Models
Scientific paper
Progress in emission theory of radio pulsar with inverse Compton scattering process (ICS) is reviewed. Inverse Compton scattering process has been recognized as an important radiation mechanism in astrophysics especially in the environment with strong magnetic field, for example, in the vicinity of a neutron star. To explain observations of various kinds of pulses, Qiao presented an ICS model of radio pulsars for both core and coronal emission. Qiao & Zhang Zhang, (1996) & Qiao (1996) investigated the mechanism of producing and accelerating particles in the inner gap of pulsars considering ICS process. Qiao & Lin (1993, 1996) Lin & Qiao (1994) presented a development of the emission model considering retardation and aberration effects due to different radiation heights for different emission beams.
