Accretion Disks: Stability, Accretion Disks: Galactic Center
Scientific paper
The local stability of advection-dominated accretion disks, which may exist in some nearby galaxies and faint AGNs, was investigated. It is found that the optically thin disk is generally more stable than the optically thick disk. This study suggests that the stable, optically thin, advection-dominated accretion disks more likely exist in the center of some inactive, less luminous galaxies.
