Scientific paper

The paper examines the interplanetary disturbances near the earth corresponding to a magnetospheric storm arising as the result of the interaction of two intense solar flares with a heliospheric current sheet during March 2-7, 1972. This interaction determined the generation of the characteristic features of the magnetospheric storm: irregular Ps6 auroral magnetic disturbances, Pc5 planetary geomagnetic pulsations, and the western electrojet strongly shifted toward the morning sector.
