An interior solution of the field equations of general relativity has
been obtained for a static and spherically symmetric charged body. It is
joined smoothly to the Reissner-Nordstrom solution at the surface of the
body. On taking away the charge, it is converted into a new interior
Schwarzschild solution obtained by Florides.
