A Fabry-Perot IR Grating Spectrometer has been built for use on the 3.9-m Anglo-Australian Telescope. This instrument consists of a totally cooled grating spectrometer employing cylindrical optics which achieves resolutions up to R = 2000 with a very compact design. The detector is a 16-element InSb array using discrete integrating preamplifiers to achieve very low noise. A mean readout noise of 124 electrons is achieved at a 1-second integration time, and the NEP at 2.2 microns for integration times of a few seconds is 1.8 x 10 to the -17th W/sq rt Hz. Examples of astronomical results obtained with the instrument are presented.
