This paper collects more than 1500 errors or misprints which plague proper identification of galaxies in the following catalogues: NGC, IC, MCG, UGC, CGCG, ESO, MK, SGC, KARA, FAIR, RC2, ZW-compact, UGCA, TULLY, NGC2000, ARAK, VCC, DDO, VV, SBS, PGC. The Lyon-Meudon Extragalactic Database is consistent with the corrections which are collected. Some difficult cases are discussed individually.
