The explosion model for the formation of the radio halo of NGC 891 proposed are mainly based on two physical assumptions: (a) the relativistic electrons belong to two families, a halo family and a disk family: the disk family originating in supernova events throughout the disk and the halo family, in a violent explosion of the galactic nucleus in the distant past; (b) Energy equipartition, that is, the magnetic energy density be proportional to the number density of stars. On these two assumptions, the main observed features of the radio halo of NGC 891 can be satisfactorily explained.
