It has been discovered that active regions commonly have numerous flare-like transient loop brightenings. The authors use a magnetic reconnection theory driven by a ponderomotive force with transverse plasmons on account of the basic properties of a transient brightening: lifetime a few minutes and total energy 1025 - 1029ergs. The numerical results are consistent with the observations.
