Radiative Transfer: Atmospheres
Scientific paper
The author presents an exact linearization and decoupling of the
integral equations satisfied by Chandrasekhar's X- and Y-functions,
which play an important role in the study of radiative transfer. He
indicates how analytic and numerical solutions may be obtained and
highlights the wider applicability of the techniques presented.
