An estimate is made of the position of the source of microbursts using data on streams of electrons in the 0.1 - 300 keV energy range from the Viking satellite. It is shown from the experimental delays in the recording of maxima in the different energy channels and from theoretical calculations of these delays in a dipole field model (L ≡ 4 - 5.5) that the most probable position of the source is the equatorial region with its center shifted by 5 - 10° toward the ionosphere.
