Dome Synchronization, As-I, Offset Compensation

We introduce an automatic dome control system by using AS-I fieldbus for detecting the slit position in the dome-telescope synchronization, AS-I fieldbus has several advantages compared with traditional control systems, i.e. easier installation, lower maintenance and lower cost. In this paper we also provide a formula for computing the offset caused by non-coincidence between the telescope slewing center and the dome spherical center, and make further analysis on the offset.
