On the basis of some dimensional theoretical considerations, relations are derived which permit determination of the first partial derivatives of a satellite radius vector with respect to the gravitational parameter and equatorial radius of the planet when the satellite motion is determined by an equation for the gravitational potential as a function of the gravitational parameter and equatorial radius of the planet, the radius vector of the satellite, some dimensionless constants, Legendre polynomials, and the planetocentric latitude of the satellite.
