Solar Spectrographs

Scientific paper

An anamorphotic optical system is proposed to be used in short-foci solar spectrographs for attaining an essential increase of linear dispersion. A detailed description is given of the evolved anamorphotic optical device, which was installed between the camera's objective and the image plane in the diffraction spectrographs of the Pamirs' solar telescope. The anamorphotic device enables to obtain a three-fold elongated along the dispersion direction image of the solar spectrum, preserving the scale along the spectrograph's slit.
