The modification of Planck's formula for velocities of stars approximates the quasi-stationary solution of Kolmogorov-Feller equation in the purely discontinuous random process. This follow both from the coincidence of their asymptotics in the regions of small and large velocities and from the practical coincidence of the function with the numerical solution for the intermediate velocities. Planck's function is used for the determination of the probability of rapprochements of stars with a set variation of the velocity module, if the masses are equal to the average mass of the field stars.
