The authors investigate the possibility of generating a period of power-law inflation using a vector field rather than a scalar field. They use techniques of dynamical systems to study the stability of these models. They show that to obtain such models, the potential must satisfy a special form. They show that not many of these power law solutions are sufficiently strong to solve the horizon and flatness problems. The authors also examine the constraints such models must satisfy in order not to have the anisotropy dominate the evolution after the inflationary era has ended.
