In this work we present "real life" experiences with the AMS Italian Ground Segment Data Transfer System. Its goal is moving data for the AMS-02 experiment, which will take data on board of the International Space Station, from the Central Facility, located elsewhere, to the Italian Ground Segment, which will act as Master Copy of the whole experiment data sample. The system has been in use since 2004 to transfer MonteCarlo data from various remote sites to AMS Science Operation Center, located at CERN. Furthermore the system is in use to transfer the whole MonteCarlo data sample from AMS Science Operation Center to the Italian Ground Segment. Data Transfer proves to be fast and reliable, achieving the goal of 3 times the expected DAQ rate and fully consistent book-keeping mechanisms. Technical implementation, experiences and "lessons learned" will be described and discussed.
