We consider a metrological application of a family of distances between measured statistics that generalize Hellinger distance and lead to generalized forms of the Fisher information. They allow us to show that different performance assessments of signal estimation may lead to contradictory conclusions and even to seemingly arbitrary high resolution with fixed finite resources.
