We propose to observe Io at 1-5 micron on 8 nights in the 2010B semester (every 45 deg in ionian longitude). This will take 1 hr per night. The (narrowband) J, H, K, L observations will be with ALTAIR/NIRI, the M observations with NIRI alone. These data will form part of a database characterizing Io's volcanic activity, information that is crucial to gain a better understanding of the geophysics of this satellite.
